Sajjad Ahmed, HCPC, MCSP

Neuro Rehabilitation & Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist

Sajjad Ahmed is a Neuro Rehabilitation Specialist Physiotherapist with an MSc in Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy and over 5 years of post-graduate clinical experience across acute hospital, outpatient, and private practice settings.
His clinical journey began in acute hospital environments, where he worked extensively with complex pre- and post-operative patients, including those with significant neurological and functional impairments. This early exposure developed a strong foundation in clinical reasoning, early-stage rehabilitation, and multidisciplinary neurological care. He later progressed into private outpatient physiotherapy, refining his musculoskeletal and orthopaedic expertise while maintaining a strong focus on functional recovery.
For the past 2 years, Sajjad has been a key member of the Clearcut Physio team, delivering both clinic-based treatment and specialist home visit services. Over the last year, his role has been primarily focused on neuro rehabilitation, working with both bed-bound and higher-function neurological patients. His approach is centred on restoring function, improving independence, and maximising quality of life through structured, goal-driven rehabilitation programmes delivered in both home and community settings.
Sajjad has extensive experience in neuro rehabilitation, including stroke, acquired brain injury, and complex deconditioning presentations. He integrates advanced rehabilitation strategies such as functional electrical stimulation (FES), task-specific training, balance retraining, gait re-education, and progressive mobility work. He is highly skilled in adapting treatment to the home environment, utilising available equipment and creating practical, functional solutions to maximise patient outcomes.
Alongside his neuro focus, Sajjad maintains strong musculoskeletal expertise. He incorporates manual therapy, soft tissue techniques, joint mobilisation, kinesio taping, dry needling, and progressive strength and conditioning when appropriate, particularly for patients with mixed neuro-musculoskeletal presentations or secondary MSK dysfunction following neurological conditions.
His treatment philosophy is strongly evidence-based, with a focus on neuroplasticity, functional task training, and patient-centred goal setting. Sajjad is passionate about helping patients transition from dependence to independence, whether that involves initial bed mobility, standing and walking retraining, or higher-level functional and community reintegration.
Sajjad’s combination of acute hospital experience, advanced neuro rehabilitation practice, and musculoskeletal expertise makes him a highly versatile clinician within the Clearcut Physiotherapy team.
Choosing Sajjad means working with an HCPC-registered, MCSP physiotherapist dedicated to delivering high-quality neuro rehabilitation using modern, functional, and evidence-based approaches tailored to each individual’s recovery potential.
