Specialist MSK Physiotherapist
Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) – Bayero University Kano, Nigeria
HCPC Registered Physiotherapist | MCSP
Abdulrahman Hassan is an HCPC Registered Physiotherapist and Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP), specialising in the assessment, management and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions. He combines evidence-based physiotherapy with a patient-centred approach to help individuals reduce pain, restore movement, improve physical function and confidently return to the activities that are important to them.
Working across Clearcut Physiotherapy’s Norbury and Eltham branches, Abdulrahman assesses and treats a broad range of musculoskeletal conditions involving the spine, shoulders, hips, knees, ankles and upper and lower limbs. His clinical experience includes the management of back and neck pain, shoulder and knee conditions, sports injuries, tendon and muscle injuries, arthritis, sciatica, post-operative rehabilitation and persistent musculoskeletal pain.
A key part of Abdulrahman’s clinical practice is thorough assessment and clinical reasoning. He places strong emphasis on identifying the underlying contributors to a patient’s symptoms rather than simply treating the area of pain. His assessment process includes consideration of movement patterns, biomechanics, muscle strength, joint mobility, functional limitations and occupational or sporting demands.
Abdulrahman also has expertise in the early recognition of musculoskeletal red flags and understands the importance of identifying presentations that may require further medical investigation or urgent referral. His clinical awareness includes red flags associated with conditions such as cancer, cauda equina syndrome, cervical myelopathy, spinal infection and other serious spinal or systemic pathology. Where appropriate, he works within professional referral pathways to ensure patients receive timely and appropriate medical assessment.
His treatment philosophy combines hands-on physiotherapy with progressive exercise rehabilitation. Depending on the individual’s presentation, treatment may include manual therapy, soft-tissue techniques, mobility work, therapeutic exercise, strengthening, movement retraining and graded return-to-activity programmes. He believes successful rehabilitation requires active patient involvement and therefore takes time to explain clinical findings, provide appropriate education and develop realistic treatment goals.
